Design how DEON thinks, reasons, and communicates.
You shape the intelligence behind DEON — from language understanding to structured reasoning and decision-making. This role is about building robust AI behavior, not clever prompts.
What you'll do
- Design and evolve DEON's language reasoning systems
- Translate human intent into reliable AI behavior
- Build guardrails that prioritize clarity, accuracy, and trust
- Collaborate with product and marketing logic, not in isolation
What you bring
- 2+ years working on AI/ML systems, applied NLP, or LLM-based products
- Strong grasp of language models, reasoning architectures, and evaluation methods
- Experience designing for reliability, safety, and predictable behavior
- Ability to translate ambiguous human intent into structured system design
- Bonus: experience with agentic systems, RAG, fine-tuning, or eval frameworks
Technical knowledge
Node.js and Express, PostgreSQL, and evaluation and orchestration pipelines, with Playwright for data capture and cloud object storage for generated assets — all served through a vanilla HTML/CSS/JS frontend with canvas-based animations. The system also integrates multiple AI provider APIs (Claude, OpenAI), real-time SSE streaming, and custom evaluation frameworks. You'll spend most of your time in the reasoning and pipeline layers.

Sr. Frontend Engineer (Experience & Interaction)
Build calm, intuitive interfaces for complex intelligence.
You'll craft the user experience of DEON — where powerful systems feel simple, intentional, and human. This is not about flashy UI. It's about restraint, clarity, and flow.
What you'll do
- Build polished, responsive interfaces
- Translate abstract AI concepts into understandable experiences
- Obsess over spacing, motion, and interaction details
- Work closely with product logic and design philosophy

- 2+ years building production frontend applications
- Deep expertise in vanilla JavaScript, CSS, and the browser platform
- Strong eye for design systems, motion, and accessibility
- Experience translating complex or ambiguous concepts into clear interfaces

Technical knowledge
A vanilla HTML/CSS/JS frontend with canvas-based animations, backed by Node.js and Express, PostgreSQL, and cloud object storage. The UI layer includes real-time SSE streaming, custom canvas animations, and a multi-tab workspace architecture. You'll live in the JavaScript, CSS, and canvas UI layer.

Sr. Backend Engineer (Systems & Infrastructure)
Design the backbone that makes intelligence reliable.
You'll build the systems that power DEON — data pipelines, orchestration, and infrastructure that quietly just works. This role values robustness over shortcuts.
What you'll do
- Design scalable backend systems
- Build reliable data and processing pipelines
- Ensure performance, security, and maintainability

- 2+ years building and operating production backend systems
- Strong expertise in Node.js / Express and distributed systems
- Experience with data pipelines, orchestration, and cloud infrastructure
- A bias toward robustness, observability, and clean architecture
- Bonus: experience supporting ML/AI workloads, streaming systems, or infrastructure-as-code
Technical knowledge
Node.js and Express, PostgreSQL, and data and processing pipelines, with Stripe for billing, Playwright for screenshot capture, and cloud object storage for generated assets. The infrastructure also includes third-party API integrations, Server-Sent Events for real-time streaming, and a multi-step AI orchestration pipeline. You'll focus on the Express, database, pipeline, and storage layers.

Marketing Strategist (AI Training & Intelligence)
Teach DEON how real marketing decisions are made.
You bring real-world marketing judgment into DEON — helping it understand brand, positioning, timing, and trade-offs. You don't execute campaigns. You teach the system how to think about them.
What you'll do
- Encode marketing intuition into structured guidance
- Help DEON distinguish strategy from noise
- Shape how DEON evaluates brand, content, and growth decisions
- Bridge human marketing expertise and AI behavior
What you bring
- 2+ years in marketing strategy, brand, or growth
- Strong instinct for positioning, timing, and trade-offs — and the ability to articulate why
- Comfort working closely with technical and product teams
- Ability to turn fuzzy intuition into clear, structured reasoning
- Bonus: experience with AI tools, content systems, or training/teaching others
Technical knowledge
DEON runs on Node.js and Express, PostgreSQL, Stripe, Playwright, and cloud object storage, with a vanilla HTML/CSS/JS frontend and canvas-based animations. The system integrates multiple AI models, real-time data pipelines, and multi-source business intelligence. You won't write the code, but you'll shape how the system reasons about marketing.
